Consider it like a Sleep Number bed, everyone has a different number. I think the 30 degree angle is just a general guideline.
maybe i was just mistaken, when i ASSUMED the HH RIDGE LINE was established to be hung taught & thus providing the PROPER HANG(in approximation)
for whatever reason, it has worked well for me, stretching the ridge line has provided me many hours of comfortable sleep
and when i converted to WHOOPIES, i was careful to maintain the stock ridge line length, since there was no need to fix something that wasn't broken

The ridge line on my HH explorer is sewn in and is very tight and non adjustable so my guess is Hennessy wants a tight ridge line.
The RL om my DJ XL was not sewn in but tied into the the web loops on inside that are part of the web loops for the suspension.
I chaneged out the OEM line for zing-it done as a whoopie sling and adjustable.
But the funny thing is that after playing around with different RL lenghts it has ended right back to the lenght it was with the factory RL.
I also like to pull my RL tight and have the angle about 25 degs when I'm in it.
