I was down to the same two hammocks, and decided I'd look here and get the one that came for sale first and could save a few bucks...
If the same price I'd get the extra ft of ridgeline length.

I think I'll just get the super fly, thanks all for the suggestions
I have owned both and both were/are awesome tarps. Both are bomb proof. I prefer my SF and the only reason is because i do not like the extra tie outs in the middle of the OMW. Not a big deal, just personal preference. Can;t go wrong with either really.
I'm mainly going for the SF because I can get it in 70d(supposedly stronger) and in multicam, for less than I could get the OMW in standard colors with 30d material
You can get away with fewer stakes if they are placed well.
You can also get away with a shorter tarp if pitched properly. 11' tarp works great with an 11' hammock.
Ha, that's why I like my OMW. To each his own.
I will say that my tarp has been "deployed" as in setup for between 500-600 days outside, all weather, all the time. Still going strong. Seam sealed it twice, treated it once. Gotta love stuff that lasts. And yeah, it's getting UV exposure and I expect something is happening to the fabric but it works and seems fine at this point. Maybe one day I'll wake up and it will have turned to powder but today ain't that day. Rock on Wilderness Logics, keeping my Blackbird dry since Dec 2012.
Have sherpas, will travel...
Triangles, it's all about the triangles.

Higher is also heavier in weight too.
OMW has 3 stake out loops per side. (imho) The center loops increase the ability to get the sides lower to the ground (when needed). They also help withstand lateral wind pushing the sides of the tarp into my hammock as much.
The 4 "corner" stakeout loops seem to be spread out closer toward the ends of the side, giving a little more room to hang out.
That seemingly additional length of the side allows for more door coverage.
The std stake loops are soft nylon, which I prefer over hard plastic/nylon loops. (WL offers them as an option, as well as other options too).
OMW stitching is so perfect (it's freaky), and the way they fold and stitch their ridge seam is so tight that I have not used seam sealer, (4 yrs no seal). And I am not a fan of grosgrain covering all the stitching.
And WL ships their gear really quickly.
I really haven't kept up with the SF since I sold mine 4 yrs ago so I don't know what changes they may have made. The SF is a legendary tarp, I like the Old Man Winter better when it comes to protection and coverage.
