Hang Calculator

Quick question regarding the Ultimate Hang hang calculator I recently downloaded. Where it asks for hammock length what is best to put down? The pre-hem material length or the gathered ready to hang hammock length?

For example my DIY gathered end was 126in raw material length, however my gathered ready to hang length is 120in. The 6 inches makes a big difference for the hang point on the app!

I am hanging indoors so I want to get the hang right for the 30 degree angle without making my walls look like swiss cheese.

Use the length of your SRL. If you don't have one, go with 83% of the gathered ready to hang length.

Hmm..that didn't seem to work for me...83% of 120 is 99.6

I put in 99.6 in for the hammock length at 11.7 wall distance with 30 in sit height and I got NaN ft for the hang point...

I'll just go with the finished hammock length and hope for the best!

Where you entered the length there should be 2 options in a drop box: Hammock Length - Ridgline Length. Change it ridgeline length and then retry.

You might try the online version at http://theultimatehang.com/hammock-hang-calculator.html - I punched in your numbers and it came to a 70.5 inch hang height. Haven't tried the app yet.

Oh that online calculator is sweet! Anyone know the SRL length of a WBBB?

According to the site the regular WBBB is 101" ridgeline length.
