It has got to be my knife and the first aid kit. I like a quality knife as it is the first thing on my list for any trip.
I carry a first aid kit that can take care of me and others....I look at it as better to have it and not need it ...than to need it and not have it...

NOBODY expects the Luxury! My chief luxury is steak...steak and bacon...bacon and steak.... My two luxuries are steak and bacon...and real cheese.... My *three* luxuries are steak, bacon, and real cheese...and an almost fanatical devotion to desserts .... My *four*...no... *Amongst* my luxuries.... Amongst my luxury...are such elements as steak, bacon.... I'll come in again.

Definitely depends how far, but your length of trip..

We laughed at my friend for his 1lb REI backpacking chair before my 6-day trip on PCT. Perfect for hammocking since you can still stay under the tarp when it's pouring out like it was for us. I ended up setting my pack on it overnight since their 1-man tents could barely fit their own. If it was nice out, I probably wouldn't use it, but a great item for up here in the PacNW. I might need to pick one up.

Guitaleles are fun -- it was going to be wet so I left it back.

Alcohol: whiskey (Woodinville or Dry Fly), Bandit (for Winter) or some high octane IPA/stout -- Cavatica or Ten-Fidy.

Alcohol. My favorite for a short three day hike..... wine in a platypus. If it is any longer, I buy a plastic pint or fifth of whiskey. cheap, lighter than glass, easy to pack

For some reason I can always pack in a package of elf fudge cookies no matter where I go. Other than hiking I never eat them.

Depends on the trip, who is going, how much time spend in camp, how many miles, etc.

I always bring my GSI infinity insulated coffee mug, I like to enjoy a hot beverage mornings and before bed and maybe read a bit from the hammock. 3oz

With groups if I think a fire is a mandatory then a cheapy Couglins pack saw, it's 5oz.

Depending on the group, my Helinox camp chair. 1lb 12oz. My last trip we used my tarp as a dining fly one rainy evening, that chair was very handy for folks who came over to visit or prepare a meal.

I'm pretty decadent. I have 2 that always go with, my Flexlite chair and my Kindle Paperwhite. They like each other. Hike my own hike and so forth.

My Jetboil is not light but I can boil water in about a minute. Not that I'm in a hurry out in the piney woods...
