    My ultralight hammock setup

    After doing lots of research on this forum, I came across SGT. Rock's sub 13 oz setup. That inspired me to make my own, so here it is! Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    (Also keep in mind, I'm a teen on budget and just learned some sewing skills)

    HAMMOCK/SUSPENSION (All DIY)

    Tree Straps (3' one inch wide nylon strap, 3' 7/64 amsteel extenders) - 1.6 oz

    Whoopie Sling (amsteel) - 1.2 oz

    Hammock w/ footbox (Sgt. Rock Ghost design) - 5.5 oz

    Bugnet (tulle bugsock) - 1.7 oz

    Cuben Fiber Stuff Sack - .2 oz

    Subtotal = 9.2 oz

    WEATHER PROTECTION

    Tarp (HammockGear 11' Ridgeline Asym) Birthday Present

    Tulle Snakeskins (They actually work)

    Dutch Stingers + 1.7 zingit

    1.7 zingit + Two .45 oz aluminum stakes

    Subtotal = 5.3 oz

    GRANDTOTAL = 14.5 oz

    That's light. Very good! Let us know how the tulle holds up.

    Great job! Curious to see how the nylon tree straps work for you, but everything else looks slick! What are you using for insulation?

    I made a down underquilt, and I use a fleece sleeping bag. I am planning on getting a top quilt later on. As for the nylon straps, they work just as well as polyester and zero stretch.

    Good to hear! I do love to see others catch the UL DIY bug.
