    Hey everyone,

Thanks for the great (practical) advice. Will be put into practice at the earliest chance ;-)

The bad weather is continuing here (the rainy season is officially June, but there have only been a couple of days in the last 6 weeks with zero rainfall...)

Between the weather and work commitments, it seems unlikely I'll get to hang again before September (before I do, though, I'll be revisiting the advice here and making myself a checklist. I'm about to go to ebay right now and get a headlamp too - I saw one with free postage to Japan in a 'camping' search a while back...)

    Cheers all!

I like to read about Disastrous Trips. Not that I want people to suffer, but these are the trips we learn from. Glad your disaster wasn't too painful.

Great trip report! I'm still waiting for my hammock to arrive, but in my general camping experience, sometimes the bad trips are just as memorable as the good ones. Heck, you stayed dry, made it through the night and ended up with a cool story to tell and most importantly, gained some knowledge. That's a successful trip in my book. Plus it's way more interesting than " Stayed the night, everything was great, went home."
