Whats up ladies and gents. First post here on hammock forums and I look forward to getting some valuable info from everyone on here. Anyone from Northern Florida? I just moved here so I'm trying to gather some info on good hiking and camping spots.

Welcome to the Sunshine State from about an hour and a half down the coast.
Your just in time to get your gear ready for a nice spot in Ocala National Forest. Should take you less than 2 hours to get to Pat's Island parking lot.
This group hang thread. It will help and the hang will be at a nice spot on the Florida Trail (FT) in a spring fed pond called Hidden Pond.
Come on down with your gear, hammock or ground, either is fine, and meet some great Florida folk.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
Try Torreya State Park on the Appalachicola River. Trails aren't really long (maybe 12 miles) but beautiful. The place makes me think of the Appalachian foothills. Beautiful woods. The Torreya tree grows there and nowhere else. The Ashe Magnolia is endemic to that area. There is another hiking area very close by.
Thanks for all the info and the invite. I'm going to plan on making the group hang event the 26th and meet some of you.
Welcome from Pensacola! I highly recommend meeting the group down at Hidden Pond if you can. Great folks!

Welcome equilibrium! Glad to see you'll be joining us at Hidden Pond, also, clear your calender for our big hang in January. Just remember to fill out the attendance sheet for that hang.
Howdy from Tallahassee! I'd be interested in potentially meeting up with you somewhere to drive down to the hang later this month. PM me if interested.
Welcome aboard from Lakeland.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.
Welcome from Gainesville!
