TN>Frozen Head State Park>October or November

I know last year didnt pan out but im up for trying again. Im saying October or November due to my schedule at work may be changing but as soon as i have a set date it will be on here. I'm thinking same plan as last time.
Tub springs would make a good base camp. We could then do a day hike to the lookout tower and on the next day we could go checkout te coal mines. For a three night or so trip. If you have suggestions please let me know.
On food, I'm thinking bring your own, unless someone wants to volunteer to make supper one night. That would a lot of fun.
Weather has me perplexed on this. I know mountains vs the valley in this area, the weather vary a great deal so if you insight please share.
Later on in this thread i will post an official list of all information.

It's a busy time of year, lots of fall hangs: so few weekends. I'd love to go if I can swing it, never been to Frozen Head.

Neither have I. I would go up and preview the site before hand if several people wanna go. I bet if we caught it on a white weekend it would be beautiful.

I just was up there this past weekend and the weather turned out great. AT night it got in the 50's and I only used a pad and a 30 degree back. I would recommend that you user the group campsite as it has more space to spread. There are some great hiking trails of all lengths and if it is a clear day you can hike to the fire tower. We have camped up there as well if you are into hiking.

I may be interested i going as well just depends on if the troop is going somewhere as I am one of the leaders.
