    Wow! Glad he's okay.

I heard an interview with a comedian once, I forget his name, but he takes medication for sleepwalking and still has to sleep in a mummy bag zipped all the way up and wear mittens to keep him from unzipping it.

Wow! I used to be a sleep walker. Hmmm ... no wonder I wake up on the other side of the hammock.

The "victim" was on ABCNews tonight saying he rarely sleepwalks, but that he'll never camp next to a 60 ft. cliff again - no mention of abandoning hammocks.

I had to watch the video twice, his friends watched him sleep walk off the cliff...Why did they just watch? Maybe time to get new camping friends. Or am I alone in these thoughts?

Yeah, if he's gonna abandon anything it should be his - so called friends that were more interesed in getting it on film then helping him to not get hurt,, even if the guy filming wasn't a friend, he has priority issues IMO,,,,....

I'm sure his friends were watching from afar, in disbelief or confusion. I can certainly imagine, "Hey, Joe. Look at Joe, Sam. What is he doing? Hey, Joe! Oh, ****."

I don't know that a bug net would do much for the die-hard sleep walker. When I was a child I used to do all kinds of weird physical activities while sleep walking and I usually didn't wake up while doing so. The next day, when my parents would find things in the house randomly rearranged they knew I'd been sleep walking. I also used to wake up looking for the zipper while tent camping and it would take me several minutes to remember where I was. I'd forgotten about all that....great. lol
I've heard it said that whatever you can do awake, you can do asleep. So I'm thinking that a bugnet wouldn't pose much barrier to a sleepwalker either.

I bet one reason his injuries were comparatively light is that he was sleep walking and his body was in a relaxed state. I don't know if i would get away with minor injuries if i fell down a 60' cliff while fully awake.
