Best set up for Indoor sleeping hammock?

Hello hammockers! I have a room that measures 10x11 and i would like to switch to sleeping in a hammock instead of a bed. How would i go about doing this? All topics i found are not entirely detailed and i would like to know what opinions on for my room in context of stand or mount. THANKS!

See these two threads (wall mount):

Given the size of your room, you will need to maximize the distance between your two anchor points. In your case, the longest possible diagonal would be about 14.87 feet (corner-to-opposite-corner).

For the other option, using a hammock stand, there's not much advice I can give, as I haven't used one.

Haven't seen any reviews, but there are a couple of YouTube videos by the manufacturer. Easily folds and can be rested against the wall or on the floor.

They sell extenders for longer hammocks.

    Crap crap crap..

I welded up really nice brackets to mount to the walls. Everything went perfect until I slowly sat down into the hammock.

Crick, crack, crick, crack, etc.. The house was built in the 50's and it was built cheap..

Here's the bracket I made, with a full size carabiner for size reference.

So, it looks like I'll have to make a stand.. Something like this..

I have a standard hammock stand that I have my Warbonnet Outdoors Ridge Runner on and that is where I sleep every night, unless I'm on the trail and then I'm in the Ridge Runner between two trees.

I wasn't ready to give up.. I sat in it and basically I think it was just settling and since I've got a minor angle on each anchor point, it may have been the drywall creaking a bit. I laid down, bounced a bit and everything was fine..

I'm currently using a tablecloth hammock and a KAQ Jarbidge UQ, and a cheap sleeping bag with the foot zipped shut as a TQ.. So far, so good..

If you're concerned with the build quality of the house you could always install a piece of wood or steel to span 2 studs to spread the load.

We are full-time hangers and what I did was:

    1. Determine which hammock(s) you would like. We currently have 2 double Brazilians like this:

    http://www.hayneedle.com/product/lar...withfringe.cfm

    One Mayan Hammock like this:

    http://www.seasidehammocks.com/COTTO...MMOCK-p31.html

    And one ENO Doublenest:

    http://www.amazon.com/Eagles-Nest-Ou.../dp/B001DDPGNO

    2. Determine proper hanging height/distance to end points. This website was helpful:
    http://www.treklightgear.com/treklif...-your-hammock/

The Seaside Hammock site gives an idea of what you need for hanging distance for their hammocks and this can be helpful. (They also showed me how to get my directionally-challenged brain to tie the knots properly! It's a short video and I had to watch it like 100 times, but I know how to do it now!)

    3. Determine where the middle of the stud you want to use is located, drill a pilot hole, then drill a hole slightly smaller than your hardware. I used Eye Hooks, which I just screwed in. I did have to use a screwdriver to twist them all the way into the stud. Then, you can hang your hammock using just caribiners or, in the case of our ENO and Mayan with ropes and caribiners so that I can easily unhook them when we need the space. I made sure that all hardware and ropes were rated to 350lbs for safety.

    Hope this helps.

If what Gravity says about your diagonal is correct (I could verify, but I'd have to refresh my geometry knowledge), then either Derek Hansen's portable pipe stand, or a Vario stand would work if you desire to use a stand. I have a Vario stand and I like it, although Derek's portable pipe stand might be better since you can hang a bit higher if desired.
