No plans, kind of just threw it together after looking at a LOT of pictures on here.

Thanks! I've sewed in the past but my skills are not elite by any means. I can mostly sew a straight line, but much of the time it looks like I was hitting the sauce while sewing, but I wasn't. LOL. My mom tried to teach me how to sew when I was younger, so yes, I do have some background.. just enough to be dangerous as they say.

Awesome, work has gotten very busy for me. I have most of the materials but haven't started cutting yet.
Just an out of shape middle aged guy who loves doing outdoor things with his great kids...

Nice work & great pics! Is the down uq the one you had made from an old down sleeping bag, mentioned in a different thread? If so, how well does it seem to be working regarding coverage, warmth, etc.? I'm vacillating between making all our uq from scratch (much work & much purchasing of down, oy!) or finding old down bags through craigslist/ebay and modifying them to use as uq.

Yes, its the one in the other thread. An older 90's rei. No idea the rating.
I havent tested it myself but the ten year old wearing fleece and using a hot water nalgene in the uq was comfy all night.
