Official 2015 Minnesota Frozen Butt Hang Thread

You 'muricans and your group hangs! This sounds like something I'd wanna attend for sure! And in Minnesooota too - where as I understand it most of our kin emerged after the long boat ride 150 years ago... Don't make me look at flight schedules and things Swedish to bring..! I have enough airmiles (and with that air fares...) racked up already this year!

btw, VineyGirl, HillBilly, and HikingDad, for location I still really want to check out spots on Greenwood Lake that I mentioned on last year's thread, but because of buying a house this summer and working on political campaigns now haven't been able to yet and probably won't have a chance until November.

Send me the location/locations you had in mind and I am going to try and check those out this weekend. Wifey permitting of course Other wise last years loction was a fairly solid spot in all respects except the parking situation. It seems as though we are sort of heading this up which we are happy to do, but could use help with a few things.

1. PARACHUTE!! Would love to have this again, so if someone has one that's coming, that would be sweet and let me know.

2. Sit pads.. Nuff said I believe... Got some extra foam that could be used for sit pads bring it or at least keep it in the vehicle so it could be used just in case.

3. Food... everyone is obviously entitled to bring food for themselves but the group food deal was great i.e. Hillbilly Peelo chili! if you want to get in on the group food/meals bring something to contribute. If you don't want to, that's fine, but just realize those that contribute to the group reap the benefits of the group.

4. If anyone has a little extra insulation that they are willing to put in the car in case someone shows up a little unprepared, on the other hand this trip can get DANGEROUSLY cold so know your gear and your own limits. Don't show up in shorts and expect to have someone save you from yourself.

5. I am open to ideas, and I nor VineyGyrl are the end all decision maker here so please give input and opinions whenever you want to to make this FBH the best yet!!

Actually it turns out, the inlaws are taking the kids Friday. So either Friday evening or really early Sat. Morn. till Sunday. Just a short trip with very little actual hiking and more laying in hammocks and hopefully fishing. (Gotta see if there is actually fish in this lake ) If you think you would like to join us let me know bro!!

Well I gave up another camping trip this weekend to go to my kids' soccer games, so I better pass on this one too...too bad as I would love to go! If you end up going up there again before the hang to prep the site more and prepare wood, I would love to go! Let me know

I've confirmed my days off, and will be there early again this year, arriving on Wed the 14th to help prep the site.

So the official dates are Thursday January 15th to Sunday January 18th and this will not change? Do most people show up on Saturday or is there already a good crowd by Thursday night?
