For anyone who missed it last time, Woot has the Yukon Outfitters Walkabout rainfly on sale again.
I grabbed one last time just for napping in the yard and it works great for $20.00 bucks,,..

Thank you. Just ordered a couple for some boy scouts.
I ordered one & got it in this weekend to replace the postage stamp tarp on a grandsons HH. Decent coverage for the price. Well pleased with it.
are these good and waterproof?

I just got one one last week and it seems well constructed, corners are reinforced, and they come with ample tie cord to get you started. It is a little on the heavier side but not some much to rule out it's use. Covered my 11' yukon double well when I hung it over the weekend. I have not got to test it in the rain and did not want to take a hose to it as I have trip later in this week and did not want wet sleeping bags. I will post about it after I use it out on the trail this coming weekend. You can't DIY one for this price so I figured it was worth trying out.

thanks for the initial feedback.
I have a couple Guidegear hammocks and am looking for something to cover kids with that does not wet through. Weight is not that big of an issue because we are car camping usually.

I finally got to test one of these in a REAL downpour... I had a couple really small leaks at my head and foot end. Not enough to get me wet, but enough to be annoying when the drop hit the hammock. I plan on checking the seam seal, but I haven't had the chance since I've been back...
I was under a fairly good leaf canopy but stayed dry during a thunderstorm and the subsequent leaf shower after the storm passed (I was constantly dripped on all night long and into the morning - the top was soaked but I didn't notice any moisture on the bottom side). I staked it fairly wide to avoid any hammock/tarp contact. There was very little sag with the stock cordage but I have since switched to a lighter alternative. For $20 it was cheaper than anything I could find locally and quieter than a blue poly tarp. I will be looking for a rectangle tarp for cold/bad weather.
Thanks for the link. I just ordered one for my son who I have am trying to convert. I made a DIY hammock last weekend for him and this should be perfect for him to fully give it a go on our next scouting campout.
My Rain Fly has arrived. Here are my first impressions after opening it up and then setting it up.
1: I believe it might actually be lighter than the equivalent rain fly from Hennessy Hammocks.
2: The rain fly offers ample coverage for the Yukon hammocks.
3 If you need an affordable fly for a Hennessy, the Yukon is a great choice
4: Toss the guy line and stakes. Invest in better stakes (you only need 2) and some Zing-It
5: Use the stuff sacks for something else and swap them out with snake skins.
I have a planned hike in October, I might just take the fly out for a test spin.
