After a few weeks, I thought this would be worth a post, so here goes:
I purchased my Dream Hammock (DangerBird) in June and received it in July with the idea of all kinds of crazy hiking adventures. Well, I've yet to take it backpacking. My wife had some health issues that forced our hand a bit to move so she could work closer to home (she does tech support for a internet provider). Long story short, she is currently living in an apartment near her work where she can telecommute. This left me back at our house to get things prepped for sale/bank seizure/mysterious fire whatever happens first . Well, rather than getting my fun week long hiking trips under my belt, the DangerBird had to jump into roll of being my every day bed. I slapped together a stand out of 1" steel pipe and the hammock has become my bed/couch/chair for the last 3 weeks. I've been up spending time with my wife over weekends, and after waking up in our pretty nice $2000 pillow top mattress and having back pain for the first time in weeks....I realized this hammock thing is legitimate! I sleep great and the hammock has help up wonderfully.
What's crazy for me, though, is after years of sleeping on thermarestrs and their ilk....I actually have a sleep system that I can sleep in more comfortably than a nice bed AND TAKE IT WITH ME. While this process has been stressful, I can't wait to actually wake up in the woods in perfect comfort. Long story short....I can't elaborate how awesome my DangerBird is. While I haven't had a chance to take it out in the wild, it's everything advertised when it comes to comfort.
