    New guy from Ottawa, Canada

    Hi all
After many years tent camping my curiosity has gotten the best of me and i bought a Hennessy Hammock Expedition Deluxe. I love it and even converted my buddy into hammock camping.
Now as winter approaches i need to find solutions for keeping my back side warm.
    Thx for having me here.
    Andre

Welcome Nice to see more faces in Ontario. I'm from Smiths Falls an hour or so South East of you

While I've yet to have the chance to avail myself of it, check out the Eastern Great Lakes hanging group on the forum. They've got a trip announcement thread that you can subscribe to if you have any interest in a group hang. They have hangs on a semiregular basis in places like Algonquin or Bon Echo or whatnot.

Might be a handy way for you to see lots of different types of equipment and techniques.

    Hope you hang happily!

Welcome welcome from sunny Toronto! IMHO, underquilts are the way to go.

As mentioned, the EGL has a number of hangs each year, in all seasons. We actually have a canoeing hang coming up on the 26th of Sept, 2014 into Algonquin. All are welcome.

    Hi Andre,

Also a hanger from Ottawa. Quilts are by far my winter choice. Often hang with a friend on crown land in the Calabogie region or sometimes stealth camp right in the NCC Greenbelt ( but don't tell anyone ).

Anyway you are welcome to join us on a day camp around Ottawa, just set up and spend a Saturday around the camp shooting the bull. This time of year we have our quilts and winter gear out.

Might organize an Ottawa Valley Winter Hang this year.

    Let me know.
