Whoopie hooks on the fixed loop?

Can anyone think of a structural reason not to put whoopie hooks on the fixed loop of a whoopie sling, and shorten that loop down to a fairly small diameter, instead of putting it on the adjustable one? Of course I realize that it then doesn't act as a 'bead' to prevent pull through, but that can be easily dealt with in other ways.

It also means whoopie hooks for every hammock. I prefer them on the whoopie so I can use whatever hammock I want.

I have put them on the fixed loop before it works just as well. Happy hanging!

Sorry if I was less than clear...I meant on the fixed eye part of the whoopie sling, not the continuous loop of the hammock.

With it on the adjustable end it wears out the amsteel slower because it spreads out the wear over a bigger area. It works though.

Don't do it. I made my first woopies like this, on the fixed eye of the woopie. It made adjusting them a pain, since the adjustable loop did not want to slide around my tree strap toggle.

Swapping it around made hang adjustments a breeze. The woopie hook does not get caught on anything if it is on the adjustable section.
