just a thought for the mods.

As a relative noob who is learning my way around hammocks and this site I would have found a glossary of "hammock jargon" as helpful as the exsisting glossary and the list of acronyms. Thanks for the good work you mods do. Also, Warbonnet is not on the manufacturers list.

list of acronyms here or did you mean in addition to this one?

Warbonnet Outdoors is the last entry on the Gear Manufacturers list...

I think he means the Links menu on the Navbar at the top. That list is missing a LOT of info...and is in fact so outdated that it might ought to be simply removed.

I found the acronyms very helpful. But what I'm talking about when I say jargon is words and phrases like "cold but syndrome" or "tacoed"(I did figure that one out myself when I got swallowed up by my SBPro) These are just two examples that I can think of quickly but, I know that there are quite a few words and phrases that are unique to hammock camping.

Would a list of jargon be something I could take on? I'm reading alot of old threads anyways so I do come across alot of it. How would I go about doing that? I'm guessing that you mods are so familar with the jargon that when reading it might just passes you by, a jargon list might be more complete if it is made by someone who is more easily confused (ie me).

Certainly. Just start keeping a list of them as you go. When you're done, let me know and we will either make a new list or add them to one of the existing lists.

    No, that's not true. You're not a moderator because you're a knucklehead.

Rhode Islanders are so weird they have their own dictionary and handbook. I don't think I would have survived my first year there without them. Based on that, I totally agree with a "Jargon" page or sticky thread. I imagine it would be extremely helpful for the new kids.
