    Mackinac Bridge Hammocks

After a bit of deliberation I have decided to make this a part time venture. Being a larger than average individual, 6'4, 275#, I could not get very comfortable in the bridge hammocks that are currently offered in the market. So I decided to make my own. I realized that I am not the only bigger person that wants to, or does, find comfort in a bridge hammock. So the focus of this venture is to offer 100% custom bridge hammocks, with a twist.....

Try it before you buy it. This has worked amicably for myself and other parties involved so far, so I have decided to run with it. Once all the details have been worked out in regards to a specific hammock body size, I will send the hammock to you. The only payment that I ask for is to have my costs covered which I will send to you once the hammock ships out. If you want to tweak the hammock, or just aren't comfortable in it, send it back and well go from there. If you are pleased with the fit and finish and the hammock is comfortable, I ask that my costs be covered and for you to place a value on the hammock above and beyond my costs.

Right now I intend to use Argon 1.6 and Hyper D 1.6 the majority of the time. I will use regular 1.9 if the user so chooses, but I have had great luck with the strength, stretch and feel of the Argon and Hyper D, so that's what I would like to stay with. I am willing to build using the Hyper D 1.0, but I have no experience with that weight and I think its counter to building for larger folk. Suspension with be Amsteel Blue and spreaders will be either .625 or .724 Easton Aluminum, depending on width of the ends and weight of the user. I am not, at this time, going to include anything past the whoopies in regards to suspension, so webbing will be up to you.

This is a 100% part time endeavor. Each hammock will be made to order, one at a time. So expect delays. I will not keep anything finished on hand, but may, at times, have 1 or 2 ready to go. I am still trying to finalize a zippered bugnet, so currently all I am offering is netless hammocks.

Welcome to Mackinac Bridge Hammocks. I liked what Trail Runner named his hammock and with his permission, I decided to run with it.

Very cool Opie!! Congrats on the new business, and I like the name a lot. Are you going to be at the MI hang with one of those bad boys?
