It's all ready for a hike. Til

I think I have it all covered. The last piece of the puzzle was an UQ

Scenario. My son is off on a school hike with a school hiking group. They need parents and what a coincidence, I was thinking that I need to get out ASAP! Boreal forest hike near meadow lake Saskatchewan. Nothing to difficult except that lows are down to freezing and less, and this is for early October.

My gear is all home made DIY stuff. 11 ft 1.6 SL hammock. , my latest silnylon tarp and now a super warm down UQ

I had a Canadian forces down sleeping bag, which was basically an extra large mummy bag. The bottom is sewn around up the side 1/4 the way up. Originally I was thinking of removing that seam and cutting out the zipper. Did that and put grosgrain around it....

    Fail

The shape was too off. Decided to go full bore. Shook the loft down and sewed a line down the sides to make it more rectangular. Than re did the grosgrain. Loved the way it turned out.

Using Shugs channel method to hang it.

I hadn't tightened up the ends in that last picture. It's pretty much a 3/4 to 7/8 length UQ. It should take me to -15 C.

So warm I started cooking 2 seconds after the picture.

Great looking work on your gear. I like the design of your tarp, looks interesting.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!

Oops. That was while I was sealing the one seam. It rotates a bit for proper ridgeline length. Although in a pinch any way that fits works

I don't know the amount of down. Lots of loft. Lay it on the floor and measure height?
