    Keith Ti Binners

Heard about the Keith Ti Binners during a recent group buy. Decided to go ahead and get a pair to play with and see how well they work ect.

Ordered 2 of them via Amazon Took about 2+ weeks to get.

    Brand: Keith KR1102
Materials: Titanium (the spring clip of this carabiner is not Titanium, it is Stainless steel)
    Color: Titanium Original Color
    Length: 60mm
    Width: 35mm
    Thickness: 3mm
    Weight: 8.9g
    My measurements

Weight 9 grams or 0.3 ounces

About 2.5 inches long and 1.5 inches wide

There are no load ratings or restrictions on the binners

I have sent an email to Keith asking what is the working load on these binners as their web site does not provide any information on this.

From what I can tell these are not to be used for hanging a hammock from or for rock climbing. They appear to be more for with hanging tarps, UQs ect.

They are large enough that an Aluminum Micro Binner will fit inside of the Keith Ti Binner ( with out forcing it )

I have read on other forums that some people complained that the gates do not latch. I my playing with them I have not found that to occur ( yet).

I also took a picture of the Keith Ti Binners along with the Aluminum Micro Binner and the two Dutch Ti Binners.

    Weight comparisons:

Keith Ti Binner 9 gram or 0.3 ounces

Aluminum Micro Binner 3 grams or 0.1 ounces

Dutch Ti Ridgeline Binner 2 grams or 0.1 ounces

Dutch Original Binner 6 grams (10 grams per Dutch's web site) or 0.2 ounces ( rated to hang a hammock )

Unless you really have to have some, I recommend you save your money and weight and get the Dutch Ti Binners and or Aluminum Micro Binners depending on what you need to support.

Did you ever get those climbing biner samples that you were talking about in the aluminum micro biner group buy thread?

Yes I did and they have held my weight ( 275 lbs) so far without any problems. I will taking them to a couple of group hangs to use.

I think you will find that the Dutch suspension biners are aluminum.

The Keith biners seem to be sold as a "tool". Possibly a spoke wrench...seriously weakened by the tool notch.

It does not say on his site one way or the other but you are probably correct.

The Keith Ti site provides almost no info on the binner. I would not want to use it as a spoke wrench due to its design. Turing my bike wheels was a task I always hated. For use to hang a UQ or tarp with I don't think there would be enough stress on it to weaken it that much. Only time will tell as I try it when hanging my tarps with it.

Like I said at the end of my review, I think there are some better options.

For real over kill and try these....https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...ti2-para-biner

There are two types do biners from Dutchware being discussed. The one pictured by the OP is titanium and it is for tarps and hammock ridge lines. The one in the link that JRB carry is an aluminum one for suspension.

    Thanks Dutch.

Got a reply from Keith Ti

The workable for the KR1102 is 250kg ,and the limited is 350kg .
For us non metric users that is 550 lbs and 770 lbs. Not strong to hang a hammock from unless you like hitting the ground.
