Hello All,
I stumbled across this Forum while searching for places to hang in Central FL. I live in Fruitland Park and as the title says I'm new to hammocks. I purchased a Hennessy Expedition for myself and both of my boys have Hennessy Scouts. I'm looking forward to learning more about utilizing the hammocks and the best places to hang, Any info will be greatly appreciated.
Glad you're here. I'm a bit north of you in Georgia and have a Hennessey Exped myself.
Some of the best advice for getting up to speed is to read the stickies. There's usually a reason they're made sticky. The HH forum has a good bit of info. Searching within forums or just on the site as a whole will probably lead to information overload. I've learned to devote several hours to searching, refining the search, searching again, and finally reading the relevant bits. Most of what I think I want to ask is already answered; it just takes some legwork to dig it out. Have fun.
Welcome....This is the world's largest repository of hammocking info. There's no such thing as a silly question but there are tons of "sticky" posts on here for easy research. If you haven't watched some of Shug's videos yet that's a great place to answer lots of initial hammock-related questions you might have.
The best thing to do is come out for a group hang with your boys. We love to hang here in FL. The next big hang is in January and if you keep your eyes open here on the forum you'll see plenty of other opportunities pop up as well.

Welcome from Winter Haven! Like Olddog mentioned, there are a good number of us in Central FL to get together rather often for local hangs. There is one this very weekend at Hidden Pond. I unfortunately can't make it, but there seems to be a good group who'll be there.
