    Two free ebooks about knots

As a result from the e-reader discussion (I think it's in the members-only area, for those who cannot find it), I started searching on Gutenberg.org for free e-books. There's two there about knots and stuff, I'm browsing through one now, and it seems to cover the basics pretty good, with some nice, clear drawings: Knots, Splices and Rope Work.
The other one is called Knts, Bends, Splices. I have yet to give it a good look, but it looks a bit like the first one: a thorough covering of the basics.

Both are old books (digitized of course), so don't expect any covering of hollow-braid rope work, but they seem pretty good into getting you going and getting you to understand the essentials.
Still getting the hang of it

As a good read, as well as being THE definitive knot source...I highly recommend the Ashley Book Of Knots. It is not free ($78 when I bought it), but it is SO worth having.
