To be honest, I really don't know. Not a whole heck of a lot, I'm sure. I'll check tonight to see if it has a weight on it. If not, I'll take it down to the NICU and weight it if I get a chance.

Taking a body bag into NICU might freak a few people out, dontcha think? Maybe you could take it in and out on a stretcher.

Ok, the official weight of the body bags we use at work is 1.7 lb. Who wants one?

When I was in the Army, I ditched the old style sleeping bag (before we got the new three-bag system) and found a body bag at the aid station. It was OD green and not the same material that Doctari is talking about (those look like they are made out of that rubber stuff that those Dominatrix chicks wear on uhm, tv).

Anywho, I had the local sewing shop (there are always hundreds around post) sew a poncho liner on the inside of the bag. I carried it in my buttpack because it was much more packable than the old bags. I think it was made out of some sort of nylon but Im not sure. It had a canvas loop at each of the four corners and one in the middle on each side.

I hung it like a hammock once and did stress the material quite a bit, but no failure. Then again, I was lean and mean then. Anyway to lighten my load in those days. The Army was all about durable gear, not necessarily user friendly gear.

BTW, I think I still have it lying around somewhere.
