Laundry's out, wait'n on the rain

Finally got around to giving my new DIY tarp a silicone bath. Tossed in some other odds and ends along with it - tarp half doors, stuff sack, mini gear tarp.
This completes my Marpat Camo binge - hammock, UQP, slide cover, tarp & half doors, shemagh, stuff sacks. The extra length of Marpat is almost 12 ft and will go into another 2 color tarp
Won't be able to find myself in the woods.

What method did you use, I've seen so many different opinions about make your own sil that honestly I'm more confused than when I began. I've got GE %100 silicone, mineral spirits, and an empty paint can. Do you have a thread you could point me to that has clear instructions. I just made a winter tarp and don't want to mess it up during the sealing process.

The ratio I used was one part silicone to 2.5 parts mineral spirits. Took a caulking gun and put the silicone in the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket, added the mineral spirits, stirred it with a paint stick for a bit, then mixed it hard with a drill powered paint mixer attachment. I found the big bucket made it a lot easier to stuff the tarp in and mash it around. Also rolled it up in there and wrung it out a couple of times to fully impregnate the fabric with the silicone mix. Hung the tarp on a clean clothes line and brushed in the excess with a wide brush (used a wallpaper brush). The I wiped any remaining blobs with a clean rag.
To me, the paint can was too small for the tarp to be thoroughly kneaded into the mix. Was also a lot neater as there was no spill over or dripping on the blue tarp I had under the project.
Did this outside & the weather was about perfect - low 80's, full sun and a very light breeze.
Supposed to get some rain this weekend. Hope it's enough for a real test. Going to hose it down in a couple of days and see if this all worked as planned.
