At this point I am using a sleeping bag to sleep in. I don't know if I want to shell out the dough for a top quilt. I am ok for now with the sleeping bag. The reason I ask if worth getting the quilt is weight is not really an issue right now as I have a bad foot and knee so I can't really do much hiking. I mostly car camp. I would like to have less space taken up in the car by the big ole sleeping bag down the line.
Soooo, why should I (and what) get top insulation? If I do get a quilt I would want it for 30-60 degrees. I don't expect to camp below 30(not just yet at least) and don't really need one above 60.
Thought????
