    Haven't hung yet!

Living is Southeastern AZ, it's difficult to find trees to hang on. I'm new to this notion of hanging after a friend of mine showed me his setup. We were with Boy Scouts and it was raining. The boys had a heck of a time getting shelters put up (working on Wilderness Survival MB), and got soaked. He had his set up in less than 10 minutes! Though I think it took so long because he was explaining the set up and the benefits of hanging.

After having spent a lot more time on this forum, Just Jeff's, YouTube with Shug and others, as well as many of the vendor's websites than I probably should have done, I decided to join the forum. I am slowly building up supplies to do my first hang. With the knowledge I am gaining, hopefully it will be soon.

Glad to be here!! Can't wait to get hanging!

The weather is turning cooler, so it's a great time to be out there hanging and learning. Greetings from another newbie, this one in Georgia.
    Cheers.

Welcome to the forums from SC. You might look into making a turtledog stand.
Keep movin', keep believing and enjoy the journey!

I am looking in to a turtledog stand, or variation thereof, right now. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hey Troy, I'm out of NC but got here in a similar way. One thing I'll say to you is to just get out there. If you've been digesting all the great info on this site and the tons of videos available, then you know enough to get outside. My wife and kids got busy with a school activity and it gave me a free night to do an over-nighter. The hammock I ordered hadn't arrived yet, but the hammock bug had already bitten me so I ran out and got some fabric and made a gathered end hammock. Went out that night, strung it up, and have been hooked ever since. This is still the hammock I use most often.

Looking forward to reading your trip reports.

    Cheers, Brian
