I think now we need people to say yay or nay on locations and dates so we can get this thing planned.

Treehouseguy, I'm sorry to hear you're trapped here, and that you got stuck in such a crappy part of Cali. I was born here so I don't know any better.

It's pry an ok state gRaFFiX, it's just that the job we are doing here sucks. I like some of the areas that I've been in, like down by Tehachapi, and over by Santa Cruz and Monterey, and maybe Sacramento is ok, but Modesto, Merced, Lodi, Elk Grove... all those places suck. (No offense if any of you are from these places.)

As far as the place, I don't really have a say. I have't been to either of those places so whatever you guys decide, I'm golden, if I'm here.

San G for me. I'll be up there on Sept. 18-20 any way.
Tortoise never for a moment stopped, but went on with a slow but steady pace straight to the end of the course.

I'm not familiar with either areas. Can anyone list off some pros and cons of each for those who aint so in the "know"?

    San Jacinto
    Pros
    • Really cool ride up
    • Less hiking (for those who dont want to)

    Cons
    • tons of people
    • No fire
    • $22 tram ride up
    • water may be an issue

    San Gorgonio

    Pros
    • Less crowds
    • free entrence
    • If we want we can bag So-Cal's highest peak
    • Water less of an issue

    Cons
    • still no fire
    • more strenuous hiking to get to most campsites (but only about a mile or two)

hope this helps... if anyone comes up with anything else, i'll edit it in!

I'd be into San Gorgonio if I could make it. Right now my schedule this fall is cRaZy. So I really don't know if and when I could make anything at this point.

Will do my best to make it though.

My vote is also for San Gorgonio. I'm in peak hiking condition right now so a few extra miles are no problem. I hope this doesn't discourage anyone. Common lets get some more people to respond

I think it would be really cool to sleep at the summit campsite (wich I believe exists).... it would definatly be a fun hike!
