    We have set the weight limit at 500lbs for the kit. One must take into consideration the quality of the lumber that will be used. This will be you weakest point.

    Couple of questions...

    .....can it be painted ?

    ..... got to thinking....does one really need the long pipe between the stands or could you just a short piece of pipe as a toggle to attached the hammock suspension to ?
    I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

    You can paint if you want but these will come black anodized already. Also, yes the pipe is needed. It keeps the two tripods from falling in toward each other. This is the heart of the stability in the design.
