Has anybody tried this? Or do they know if it will work? I loved the skins on my HH and was wondering if there is a similar product or if IM just being a moron?

I use snake skins only on my tarp. The Nx-250 has a very nice built in stuff sac, not sure about the flex 180 though.
There are: you can purchase the snake skins separate from anything else from Hennessy, or if you want to fit more than just the hammock into your skins, there's always the Lazy Slug Tube from Wilderness Logics.
Hope it helps!

I use the NX-250's built in stuff sack for the hammock. I got a pair of Mesh Tarp Sleeves (snakeskins) from Kat at MountainGoat Hats & Goods Store. Nice price, and I like the option of the pockets on the ends to stow the "ridge" guy lines. She also knew what size I needed when I told her I had the 10'x10.5' Vertex tarp. I can pack the tarp inside its snakeskins in the hammock stuff sack to consolidate the gear but on day two of four of a recent trip I packed my wet tarp securely in the snake skins while it was still hung to avoid getting mud on it, then lashed it to the underside of my alpine pack's lid like a climbing rope to keep the pack's contents from getting wet from the tarp. Highly recommended piece of kit.
