As title states, how would you suggest to remove old seam sealing in order to re-seam seal the tarp? I attempted to seal over the old stuff and it just peeled right off. Any help or suggestions would be great! Thanks in advance

I am guessing, I would use a q-tip or better yet, some 2 X 2 gauze squares (I buy them from a medical supply place 200 to a package for $3.00. I use them for wound clean-up, cleaning things like my work telephone with disinfectant etc. They are kind of rough, but do not scratch, they clean up bits and pieces of goop. I have removed the residue of old duct tape with them. I would work outside, with a tiny breeze, do not breathe the fumes, use mineral spirits, rubber gloves and the q-tips or gauze squares and I think that would remove the gook. Probably a lot of time and inspection, because you would want to get all of the old sealing off, or your new seal will not work. You might want to just duct tape maybe tenacious tape, or start over with a new tarp.
I am tenacious so I would probably put the work in if it has been a faithful tarp.
