    Hang angle for Brazillian Hammock

I've searched and haven't found much discussion on this - apologies if I've overlooked the obvious. I'm searching for options for my bed-replacement hammock. I'm currently in a DIY tablecloth gathered end and it's fine but not great. I was in a Grand Trunk double and got a flatter lay, but it had drawbacks too. I've been looking at Brazilians and want to give one a try but am not sure if it means I'd need to change my suspension/attachment points. I'm currently comfortably suspended (a la the hanging calculator) at a 30 degree angle, 15 feet between anchor points, attached about 5.5 feet off the ground. I've read some posts suggesting 40 degrees may be more preferred for the Brazilian, but you really need to experiment. I get that but I can't keep drilling holes my wall :-). Is the best bet to use the hang calculator and plug in 40 degrees? If I do that I need suspension points at 8 feet? Or am I missing something. Any help is appreciated. (I'm looking at a 13 foot brazilian). Thanks.

    Mine's a 14'

    Hanging on a JRB-style inverted-T-stand (1" pipe).
Hang attach height is about 5'6" (strap height)
two poles are about 13' 6" apart (distance between trees).
I attach the hammock using about 2" of amsteel loop from each end (suspension length).
mucho comfy! however wish the sit-height were 2-4 inches higher

Not sure what the angle ended up being but i would guess about 35-40 degrees.
    Hope that helps!
hammock hang calculator may give you better info

Mine is 12' long. And I hang it at around 40 degrees. It doesn't attach directly to the eye-bolts, I have rope between the eye-bolt and the carabiner, which means I have some play room. I started at 30, and gone to 45, lots of playing around with it to get it perfect.
On my previous house, I had no rope between the eye-bolt and carabiner, so I was stuck with what I had. I suggest you find some connections points that will give you some play room.
    I'd rather be hanging.

Thanks. Sounds like I may just have to order one and try it where it is, and worry about drilling new anchor points at that point if it's not high enough.....
