Used to canoe the Colorado R. a lot when we lived out there. It's a beautiful place for paddling--water's easy, spectacular canyons. If you're paddling from Gunnison you can camp at Black Rocks a day's journey in.

Hiking/Backpacking: I'd like to backpack more but I am currently having knee problems but I've lost 15 pounds and should be able to get out in spring.

    Car Camping: Oh yeah!
And loafing around at a cabin in the woods in my hammock.

About the same gear and clothing I would take backpacking. I've gotten used to not having to haul around a bunch of stuff and I don't like keeping track of a lot of stuff.
Food depends on where I'm hanging out - car camping it is a propane stove and a cooler, cabin camping it is whatever is already in the kitchen (in other words I don't bring anything but a cooler that is emptied into the fridge). For backpacking my food scheme is still evolving.

Normal is a couple of nights. Last "camping" trip was 6 days.

Not as many as I'd like - got out only 5 times this year so far.

Mostly backpacking 1-2 nights at a time. Went about once a month, sometimes more, when I lived near Big Sur. Now I can barely squeeze in two trips a year b/c of all I have going on. But in Colorado Springs (moving soon) I should be back to at least once a month. Can't wait for the winter trips. Will probably do more car camping b/c I can bring my wife in the Jeep and just pull off a Jeep trail to set up camp. She's more likely to come along that way!

~15 lbs total pack weight when I'm alone on a 1-2 nighter. Usually ~25 lbs when the kids come along.

Squeeze in multi-night trips whenever I can.
