Super fly leaking big time

My SF is leaking pretty bad along the ridge line. Right above my face. I sealed it all the way across and hope it works. Anyone know how long the sealant will last and how it will perform in heavy rain? I used a product called "seamgrip."

I don't think Seamgrip is the right stuff for a Superfly. My understanding is that for a Silnylon tarp, you need to use a silicone sealer such as Silnet or Permatex flowable silicone. Seamgrip is designed for PU coated tarps. Superflys are not PU. In fact, on the Warbonnet website, he recommends a silicone sealer. Try a quick seal with silicone and I bet the leaks go away.

I used the permatex flowable silicone and it worked great.

Hey bigfoot2, lighten up! If you look at his post you can tell that cjayflo is new to the hobby, after all it was his first rain hang. I learned to seal seams 47 years ago as a young scout after almost floating out of a brand new tent (oh what a cold miserable wet week-end that was). You learned too at some point in your experience. 30 years from now cjayflo will be able to pass the info on to another camper and he will have his horror story to tell. We all have to learn as we go.
