    Post New to New York

Hey guys I'm just starting my hammock career and what better place than the Adirondacks, moved up here for college and have already hit 7 of my 46 peaks.
Very excited for some winter hammock adventures!!!

Brand new to the whole thing so if you know the area pointers would be great.

    Thanks much, Carl

Welcome to the addiction and to NY.

I am in the adks every other weekend, rarely in the high peaks though. See you on the trail perhaps.

    Welcome from Horseheads.

I am also new to the hammock world and will be heading up north to enjoy those views.

    Best,

Welcome. I'm not far from Saratoga Springs, I actually mountain bike there a lot. Most of my hiking is in the Green Mountains of Vermont, though. The ADK's get a bit too crowded for me.

Spot on. Which is why I rarely am in the high peaks region and explore the other 90% of the adks. Still haven't ventured into the Greens yet. Someday I hope.

Welcome. You couldn't have picked a better time of year for the ADK's. Jealous!
