Is a 1.1 Argon Hammock Blank Possible?

I have the 1.6 and really like it. The argon has a different kind of stretch to it. Hard to describe but it is good.

That made me wonder, is there a lighter argon (1.1?) that blanks could be made of?

I think argon is only sold by dutchware. The available weights are .67, .90, and the 1.6. There are a couple of old threads describing hammocks made from .90.

I think the .9 is probably too thin for someone to sell it commercially as blanks.

Yeah, I made one of the hammocks out of the .90, and I also have one made from 1.6.

Verdict: don't bother with the .90. Too stretchy to really be comfortable for more than lounging. The 1.6 still gives you the nice feel of the fabric, but there's a lot of shoulder squeeze and whatnot. I also think the .90 is a bit slipperier than the 1.6.

Not understanding fabric very well, how close would the 1.2 polyester be to the incredible feel of the argon 1.6? I currently have a 1.1 snipe that is very nice, but you have me hooked on how the argon felt.

The PolyD is a much more satiny feel but not slick. I really like the ARGON also and it has a cottony feel. I might come out with a lighter ARGON for hammocks but it isn't in the pipeline yet.
