Help-gear dash to Seattle

A oppertunity has jumped up rather quickly for me to go on trip to seattle from Vancouver where I am visiting. Im going to use this a a mercy gear dash and stock up on items that I cant get here in Canada and in Australia.

Ive searched the net and got some results but thought that some of the local seattle members or others in the know may be able to take it that much further....

First what I want to get is Fabrics. So seattle fabrics instantly comes to mind. Is there anyother place better or anything. My future projects include a down quilt, more tarps, and a backpack

second is the Fiskars brush axe. I have heard nothing but good things about this one.

beleive it or not its not avaible in Australia and I have failed in my attempts to get it here in Canada.

Third is the goose down. Just seeing if theres a place. again have struggled in Canada and Australia. and shipping can be pricy to both of them. Espicaly sydney where I spend most me time.

I would think that almost any good-sized marine supply store in Seattle would have Amsteel in various sizes. Perhaps some googling and email correspondence before your trip could identify them...or some Seattle-area forum posters could help with suggestions

I picked up a Fiskars brush axe from WalMart here in Iowa.

Don't know if they carry them everywhere. In all honesty I haven't had the chance to even use it, but it will need a good sharpening before I do.

Check the WalMarts in the area you are going to be.

I was going to suggest Columbia Knot Company, but looked on mapquest and they on the east side of the state, just south east of Spokane.

I think the Samson Ropes is in the Seattle area, maybe you could contact and buy direct. Just looked and Samson Rope, the maker of Amsteel, is in Ferndale, WA just north of Bellingham. You'll be passing right by them on the way to Seattle.

Just got back form the trip.

Thanks for the help all it was good leads.

Seattle fabrics had everything I wanted from them so I am set for the next few projects.

I found a guy here in Canada who will sell me 825 loft goose down for a good price.

I fetched the gerber brush thinner. Exactly the same as the fiskars brush axe.(fiskars owns gerber) only thing is the day glow orange handle is bad *** black instead. ahaha
