    Cloudburst tear

    Hello all,
I got out last night and hung with my ridgerunner. Had a great night, but when I woke up, I found something Terrible! My tarp was pulled pretty tight last night as I was expecting rain and with some high winds it looks like my tarp has been pulled off the ridgeline. I love the cloudburst and will probably have to replace it, but is it worth letting Brandon know to see if he can do anything? Nothing was his fault, he does great work, but however it happened, I have a cloudburst that is torn. Is there anything I can do to fix?

    Let me know your thoughts.

You'll have to send it back for repair or pick the seam on the binding down the length and re bind the fabric yourself with a thread injector.

While I do not know how tight you had it the picture looks like the cloth is unraveling not tearing. That is a surprise. I would expect the seam to be folded at least once and probably twice to prevent that.
    YMMV

I agree with northmark, it looks like ravelling vs ripping to me. I am also surprised that the hem does not look folded over. I would contact Brandon.

I've seen this before, just before a storm hit and there was mass destruction with millions lost.

I cannot in good concious ask you to call Brandon for his expertise in fixing this monstrosity unless it's to order a brand new tarp.

You must immediately box this tarp of doom and send it to me for proper disposal. It's the only humane thing to do.

Looks like a manufacturing fault or faulty fabric to me. I have been using WB tarps for almost 4 years now, and I set them up pretty tight. No problems whatsoever. I'd definitely contact Brandon and see what he thinks.

I think that rip is fixable. I would need a closer shot to give a flat statement that it is fixable, however, I think the odds are very strongly in favor of being repairable. I thought you had a big ugly rip, you caught it while small.

As almost everyone suggested, give Brandon a chance to shine.

I hope he can fix it. This is an awesome tarp(as you already know).

    Good luck.
