    Yea very cool view.

We will be passing by Hansons ridge this weekend, depending how we do on time we might cut out onto it and have a look. The vids/pics I've seen do look impressive. I don't think we will camp on the ridge though, I am assuming its going to be busy. Will most likely try to camp somewhere between rush ridge and there.

Thanks so much Broken Halo! That definitely helps, that's exactly what I was looking for. Some type of physical sign that id be coming up on it. I just hope I luck out and its not too busy with foot traffic up there tomorrow night!

A group of us are going back to the Red in May...May 14 to be exact. We've never hiked to Hanson's Point before and plan to this time. We usually rent a cabin; but I want to be at the point at sunrise (6:28 AM on May 14, 2016). Is it hikeable early morning; before sunrise? Or should we camp? Thanks so much for any feedback/advice!

I enjoyed the hike in reverse starting from the swifty river on the rough trail. Iended up on the ridge at Hanson's with too little water. I was the only one camped there on a Monday in May but there were still fires burning in some of the fire pits from the weekend along with excriment which was piled up along a side trail to the edge. I ran into a lot of different excriment locations along trails. Gross but the views are nice.

I wouldn't recommend hiking many places in The Gorge in the dark; places can be dangerous and hard to find.
