    ENO Doublenest- Good beginner hammock?

So I'm 16 and 6'1" tall. I've never been camping, at all, But would like to start.

I've been looking at the Eagle Nest Outfitters Hammock for about 10 months now. Originally the Singlenest, Until someone told me it was easier to lay flat in the Doublenest, Plus the additional room.

I'd like to know if this hammock is good for a beginner.

I tried to provide as much information as possible in my first post to save questions answered with questions. Thanks in advance I guess

A very good hammock, for a beginner or otherwise.
You may need a bug solution and will defiantly need a rain fly, but that hammock will get you hangin quite happy.

Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Thanks, I'm looking at a basic 8'x10' Tarp.

I have another question, if I have a Sleeping Pad, would I need an Underquiltt, and vice versa.

Your going to get more comfort in the wider model and be able to lay flatter because of it. You are going to want to address a bug net and a tarp if your in an area where either rain or heavy fog could happen.

If it's an area where there is no chance of moisture happening, there's nothing better than being in a hammock at night looking upwards at the stars through a bug net; knowing that the nasty bitting little buggers can't get at ya.

Depends on the sleeper, but sure lots of folks just use pads and forgo the cost of underquilts. Others use a pad in case they are either forced to, or choose () to go to ground.

What's the bug scene like in Ireland?

I have the ENO Double and love it. If bugs are bad, get a bug net, otherwise don't use one. As far as Tarps, there's lots to chose from.

There's alot of midges and mossies. As I've never been camping, I can't say how relentless they are :/

With the zeal of the converted, I'll preach that I've spent many nights this summer in an ENO with no bugnet but a decent treatment of permethrin.
