I have to say that's a pretty sorry looking setup . Tho' I'm sure a lesson was learned and that won't happen again. Beautiful area, almost makes up for sleeping on the ground.
Good luck,

That's the false economy of not equipping every kit completely. Was a time that I did that too, thinking that if I could only use one at a time that straps, whoopies, and carabiners would get loaded where needed.
Then I had duplicates of suspensions and straps, as many of us do.....but more hammocks than two. Now I couldn't keep straight where I had and where I had not included the rest of the kit.
And yes, Clark uses exactly the same "Clark" stuff sack for all of their hmmks. I wrote UL, Tropical, NX150, or NX250 to keep them straight instead of trying to distinguish them by weight.
What a trip! This sets me back again. I have been trying to control my redundancy thing, taking to much gear that never gets used and duplicate stuff. Now I'm thinking yep, better take some extra amsteel and straps. I guess DemostiX has a good idea, pack every hammock complete. I guess if I can afford the hammock I can afford a suspension for it. For a man who is SO likely to forget something, your report really catches my attention.
With that view.....I would sleep cowboy style if needed.

Folks who question why some of us like completely attached suspensions take note! ;-))
Reminds me of my ground dwelling days when I bought a new Bibler one man tent and set off on a trip late in the day. Finally found a spot to sleep so dumped the pack. No tent! pulled the small tarp wrapped around my thermarest and set up on the ground. Went to pull my jacket out of it's stuff sack,,it was the tent!. They really pack small! Not as comfy as a hammock though! ;-)
YMMV

Free advice worth what you paid for it. ;-)
Great view, sorry to hear about having to go to ground, from user error.
I think this is the reason I have short continuios loops on the ends on my hammocks. Then keep whoopies and straps in a separate bag. I then know that I have everything needed to hang.
I bet this won't happen again, as this will sit in the back of your mind for a long time.....RR

From the pict that netted hammock makes a pretty nice bug bivi.
I to have forgotten hammock parts and now pack each hammock complete.
I also carry a spare extra long strap if I need to improvise and my bear bag line is 1/64th amsteel which can be used for a second suspension line should I leave a tree strap on at a camp site which I have done.
Good report thanks for sharing.
Those little GG pads come in handy for some comfort! I'll bet the scouts tease you about this one for a while. Kids love that!
