Hi HitchHiking,
Back in the day when I did serious hiuking and back packing, I was very fond of Garibaldi Provincial Park. Many a nice fishing weekend up at Mamquam Lake.
These days I motorcycle tour all over. Give me a map, and I will find some nice, empty paved mountain roads with lots of twisties. My vacations will be 6 to 7 days riding from one campground to another, then a fire, a few beer and some fire roasted meat and veg to end the day.
I am, however, also considering getting back into the back counttry. However, as I get a bit older, very serious injuries to my ankles suffered whilst in the Infantry seem to cause me more and more chronic pain. But, I suppose with good boots I could get back into backpacking.
T o al;l the others on this thread that have said hello, and from nearby, thanks for the welcome, and let me know if there will be upcoing hangs.
From the Gulf Coast of Alabama, welcome to the forum.

welcome im pretty new too. Lots of good info.
Hitch, fishing at Mamquam was like stealing. The lake is natutally stocked with cut throat trout, and the water is very cold. It seems the cold water makes the fish really stupid, and they bite on almost anything.
Being out here i the West, there are many, many beautiful, lightly traveled mountain roads that are a hoot to ride. And with so many provincial parks, state parks, recreation sites and national forests around from BC all the way down to the Mexican border, finding a place to camp is easy.
As to a get together for people in the area, I am game. There are some nice parks and forest service campgrounds in North West Washington that would be good places to just spend a weekend doing nothing.
