There's an awful lot of fishing and turkey hunting that needs doing in that time frame, but I'll keep an eye on this, and may make it.

The Ozark hang dates will be anytime between March 12-14. I will be there Thursday mid-morning March 11th for any that want to come early. I'm planning on taking my canoe or kayak. For anyone interested in renting canoes I'll find out the info and post it.

DANG! I really wanted to make this one but that will be the same week-end our Scout troop will be going to Enchanted Rock over by Austin.
I'm looking to get them up to the Ozarks for some backpacking or canoeing.

Is this car camping or is this hiking?
Btw, UncleMJM is part of the Houston Group (we adopted him)
Car camp at Kyle's Landing, But u can hike, backpack, canoe/kayak, or just hang out and just hang... There are many waterfalls to hike to also.
Tim Ernst has many Arkansas Hiking books out that help. this is the one I have. http://search.barnesandnoble.com/boo...-9781882906406
I'm into backpacking but never had a chance to hike the Buffalo before (I was always there with the Boy Scouts and canoeing was the planned adventure).
So I will probably plan on backpacking at least one night. But I'm flexible. If no one else wants to backpack, I'm content to just hang at Kyle's!
Two things to keep in mind: Kyle can get VERY crowded if the weather is nice. And I've never in my life seen so many ticks as at Kyle (and ticks don't bother me). Mid-March though should be borderline for both crowds of people and crowds of ticks.

The road goes ever on and on Down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, And I must follow, if I can, Pursuing it with weary feet, Until it joins some larger way, Where many paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say.
-Frodo Baggins, The Fellowship of the Ring
I was trying to beat the school break crowds and ticks. When the time gets closer we can all get an ideal on what everyone’s interested in doing.
