I always liked the definition that a friend will bail you out of jail, while a good friend would be sitting next to you saying "Man, that was fun!"

I noticed that there seems to be something missing from the time when I joined too. There was a whirlwind of innovation at that time. Atleast it seemed that way. It could be that it was all new to me. I don't see some of the folks around that I took notice of in regards fresh ideas. It may be due to like Shug said "having it all figured out". I notice that I am more interested in hiking and various destinations as opposed to learning how to set it all up. That translates into a difference in how I browse threads. But yeah where's all the old timers?

Allright.......good to hear some other thoughts.
Just reckon this is my internet-thing so I still exist on here.
Not looking to farm new friends fro this post but was always kinda curious what it meant.
Seems like it is just a nice gesture.

I know for me, I don't have much to say, most of the time
And between work, sleep and family and the fact that's its still way to cold
And to much snow on the ground to get out in the piney woods
(For me anyways) lol so that's why I don't post much
But we're all still here for ya Shug in one way or another :-}
This is your one stop shop for all Hammock knowledge
I've heard others say this, and it is true for me, that HF is their Facebook. Probably not in the truest sense of social media. I do my social networking, face to face.
I've also heard it said that folks come for the information but stay for the character of the people on the sight.
I don't do Facebook, and will keep resisting it and Twitter and others. I just don't feel like my minute by minute movements and musings are all that important or interesting. However, I come here everyday, multiple times a day because the topics interest me, the people interest me more and it entertains me greatly. I don't get the importance of the friend request either, although I think I have two at this point, but I do get that it ties some more readily together. Use it or not, I hope to make a genuine friend or two (or more) from the site and enjoy the hammock life for a very, very long time.

So far, frie dless here. Got to start somewhere but as there are very few hammock enthused people in my part of the world, I would expect it.
Shug, without friends? Here? Wow, can't think of a friendlier type of guy. Come on all olde friends of the Shug, out of the woodlands for just a minute to shake hands, c'mon now!
Actually, Shug, I can't believe that I have never sent YOU a friend request! Just did. Please accept! I play well with others, and don't eat my young. And I hammock. A lot!

I'll be your friend as long as you promise that once you find out I drive a truck you won't ask me to help you move.
