Beautiful spot gregmitch!
Wow very nice
U just don't fall once
Hy everyone!!!*
This is my first attempt to set my hammock up high.
That's in my backyard, to keep it easy and safe.
I used a ladder to set it up and optimize all the ropes, loops, 'biners and stuff. I only had one, so I had to carry that around like a hundred times
but finally I was very pleased, especially with the tarp and how it hangs.
I spend to nights in there (at about 10°C (50°F)), one of them with wind and rain and I'm very happy - given that I've chosen all the stuff with very little experience it all works together nicely, it's very comfy and security should be covered as well, me thinks.
Can't wait for my first time in the wild highs...
*second post here = totally euphoric )
Never assume malice when stupidity will suffice.
First trip with friends two weeks ago in the Franconian Switzerland - we were lucky and found a very nice spot near the border of the forest where we've been able to set us up as triangle
Oh - that just came to my mind:
Once you figured out how to get yourself onto your insolation matt and in your sleeping bag in a hammock two meters above (see post before), then doing this on the ground becomes piece of cake

Awesome pics Jens, I love the "up high" pictures. Also you're hammock is very cool too.

Getting lost is not a waste of time.
Two months ago on The Appalachian Trail, behind Vandeventer Shelter.
Sunrise from my hammock:
idk why this one turned out sideways
and I just like the way this spot worked out for both off us. tucked back a little ways, but the lake was still les than 50 yards away
Jens - Why did you hang the hammock so high? Just for fun? Are you leaving it up all the time in your backyard and want to make sure no one can mess with it? Just curious.
