Dro, not as entertaining as a lot of yours, but it's the last 3 letters of my first name. Not something people commonly take, and it's been my nickname for years, short for Alejandro...
I am not a runner. I hate running. Seven years in the Army & Army Nat'l Guard cured me of any desire for that madness. My name comes from a line in the movie Logan's Run: "Runner terminated, 968 returning to base."
Mine came from a nick I picked up in the computer field. I have a large grey beard and tend to keep to myself. So 'bearded dragon'. I am also a very big guy (who smoke a pipe).
I am an old school UNIX guy from way back.

Since I have studied "primitive technology" for quite some time, the ape man moniker seemed natural. I think a student of a survival class called me that and it stuck. The 1470 is a number that stuck in my mind. It was used to denote a hominid skull discovered in Africa by Richard Leakey in 1972. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
While traveling to a biker event at Lake of the Ozarks we stopped in Brazito, MO for a gas and potty break. Thought the name was cool, been using it ever since.
Mine is easy - my name is Aaron and I'm a PT (Physical Therapist) - been using the screenname for over a decade on many forums, so why change!
K8oe (think Green Hornet) Kato
Most of the forested areas that I spend time in here in Central Florida are very Lush and green. I know many people with the name Jason. Nicknames for me have changed over the years. My Good friend called me "Jay Nature" on his caller ID, I used that in a sort of way and just picked Jungle Jay. It was Either that or "Jackaroo", a NN an Aussie friend of mine calls me. But I din't think that rings out-loud as "Cool" as Jungle Jay does. LOL
Just a college nick name....we were way to busy "studying" to use full names (Mahoney)
