New UQ / Snakeskins and suspension
New UQ / Snakeskins and suspension
i like your underquilt, how long did it take you to make it.
That quilt looks like it's got a lot of droop. Is it anywhere near you when your in there?
I like the hammock that you´ve done and of course the UQ!
I had a DIY-hammock but I never figured out how to make the bugnet so it would be a 100% bugproof so it ended up with me buying a hammock with an integrated bugnet. You´ve done a great job with that.
The UQ seems nice, is that the one with Primaloft as insulation that we´ve discussed before? It seems really lofty and cozy. Please let us know more about it after you´ve tried it out for a couple of nights. It would be great if you could weigh it, would be nice to know.
About the suspension of the tarp, you could try some triangles that many hangers use to tie the UQ up. The triangles make it easier to get it tight so that there wont come in cold air.
Ther´s a picture of the triangles in this thread:

About the suspension of the hammock you should really take a look at whoopie slings. They really make things a lot easier. I will hopefully get my hands on some whoopie-material tomorrow to make some more whoopies instead of the thick whoopies I made earlier.
Nice work!

Sorry dudes, only in Swedish (so far).

They ship within Europe for 17€, which i think is very much, but maybe you find another shop in Denmark. Just look for a Dyneema line, maybe in Kitesports or in Boatshops, they should normally have it.
The Whoopie Slings are definitly a must have, and if you find a 3mm Dyneema (it doesn't strech a bit with my 75 kilos) with 12 strands, it should be perfectly fine. Just make sure it's 100% Dyneema, no polyester coating.
Nicely done, BPDK.
A true diy. Love your new quilt, congrats.
Keep up the good work.
Ambulo tua ambulo.
@Myteathor Thanks...It took a a few nights ..
@Lonely Raven No air between Hammock and UQ ..I Can see that the UQ was very curved, but it fitted fine when I got into the hammock .. Butthere are clearly some adjustments i need to do.
@peter1969 Thanks for the link.. Yes its the one with Primaloft. Plz let me know about your new whoopie project.
@j.c.locomote Thanks for the link. Shipping is a bit on the high side.. The only Dyneema i can find in denmark always have a core

Nice job. It looks great now I need some ambition for mine.
I also liked your idea for the string on the zipper.
