when you get into your hammock where do you put your shoes before entering the hammock?
I hang my camp shoes from my ridgeline and out the bottom entry hole then velcro around them. That way they are close by if I need to take a late night stroll. It also keeps the critters out of my shoes for the most part. I pack my hiking boots in my pack and close it up if they aren't too muddy/dirty. If they are dirty then I wrap them with my pack in my rain poncho and place them under my hammock. You could also just hang them over the end of your hammock.
In warmer weather I'll take my hiking shoes off and cover them with a trash bag. Then I'll slip into my croc knockoffs from Family Dollar. Very easy to slip into and out of. I keep them on the ground under the hammock. I check for visitors before I put them on. In colder weather, I put my hiking shoes under my hammock on the ground.

I always place them right under my hammock. I also carry a plastic dinner place mat and put it right where my feet land....my shoes go right next to the mat. I also hang lots of small sylnylon roll down waterproof bags at the ends of my hammock.

+ridgeline after I bang them out of course.
Ridge line, next to my pack. When not needed: Camp shoes go in a small "gear hammock" suspended under my hammock. The gear hammock is just large enough to hold: hiking boots, jacket, & water bottle. My headlight goes in the attached (to the hammock) pocket. Everything else is in my pack.

When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.
I leave my shoe under the hammock so I can just slip them on when getting out. If it's really raining and there is a chance they may get wet I hang them from the end of the hammock, under my tarp.

IMO there is nothing better than a cheap pair of flip flops to change into after a long day of hiking. I always put my shoes in my pack and wear flops around camp, them slip them into the little side pocket of my Eno when in the hammock.
if it's going to be below freezing, i usually put them in a trash bag & inside the hammock, inside my quilt w/ me, so they aren't froze hard in the morn
I too will something make and joy in it's making
