I just ordered whoopie slings, and I'm gonna permanently attach them to my hugger, and sew on the DC. Not even a "clip clip" - just a "sfit sfit" of the DCs. A little adjustment and I'm all set up, insulation lofting. Probably under a minute, but we'll see.

I wish I could leave my whoopies attached to my webbing. The trees around here range from a half a foot, to 4 feet wide. Even with my long whoopies, they wouldn't be able to make up the difference...
Is there any way you could attach them, and still use a marlin spike or something to that effect to shorten the strap?

Everything separate here. Suspensions all with their respective items. Skins for the tarp, bishop bag for hammock, & compression bags for quilts. Still much faster than pitching a tent!
I have started doing the same thing. I will be changing campsites every day for a week on my upcoming trip with fishing and hiking opportunities. I want to minimize the time setting up and make it less fussy for Kristen. I will be stuffing them into Event dry sacks which will go inside heavy duty dry sacks for the rafts.
Yep - just bring an extra hugger. The DC will attach the two huggers together, then you can use a toggle or whatever to connect the other end.
Or slide the hugger over the webbing and cord, wrap it around the tree, and then attach the extra hugger to the clip. No need for a toggle that way.
Just be careful the DC doesn't put pressure on the back or side of the tree...you could cushion it with some twigs if necessary.
