Depending on the time of the year, i would be interested....Its almost getting too hot for me to camp out...at least down south...
Pick a time and place and I'll see if I can get permission from the wife. We have several family trips on the agenda for the near term.
I will be last minute with the job traveling, but I'll come if I can. Second the wait until cooler times. Can't go outside without sweating and gasping for air.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?

name the time and the place I will try to be there. Would ask though that it be a kid friendly hang though. Oh, by the way........welcome to HF from another Bama hanger.

Nice response! I am waiting for my WBBB, Crows Nest, Tarp and what-nots. I am hoping to head out to Cheaha? I haven't been so, I don't know if they allow overnight camping. Will contact them, unless one of you have a better spot/idea?

There's lots of places up there you could organize an overnight hang. Lots of campgrounds available. I am in if it is on a weekend that I could get away.
I went through there on my hike from Key West to Springer Mtn. It is a beautiful place and they do indeed have camping areas. The primative sites are placed along a fairly steep hill. I'm not sure if they allow hanging from trees in the park. If not, no problem. The Pinhoti Trail is right next to the park entrance. You can park there or down the road a couple of miles is another trail head. The rangers are very friendly and helpful. If you go hiking on the trail, mind the loose rock. I got busted up pretty bad there when a huge rock I never expected to move shifted underfoot and caused a rockslide. On the plus side, the staff treated me as royalty. You chose a great place with an awesome overlook. Enjoy!

...and there came to be a day, all too soon, that I became aware that I could travel no more on my long journey. Though I did not arrive where I had planned, I believe that here is exactly where I am supposed to be...
Count me in! I would definitely prefer a weekend.

Ifn you need Cheaha or pinhoti info, drop me a line. I've thru'd the pinhoti and am in the process of getting new maps made. Been all over that trail! The state park is nice but sometimes too many people around for my taste. I can give ya a bunch of options.
Welcome to HF!
