I wash my hammocks by hand in the bath tub. Early on I used one of the specialty high tech soaps I used for down gear.
Now I use Dawn soap. I soak, rinse, add Dawn, soak, swirl, soak, rinse, drain, rinse add 1/2 cup cider vinegar, then final rinse. Roll in a bathsheet. Let it sit for a few minutes. Hang to dry.
Personally I no longer use Ivory Soap, it gums up fabrics. Dito Woolite. I use WASH RINSE for fine wool product or silk. I have used it on Argon with excellent results. I like the no rinse part too.
I noticed on the link for washing, it was suggested to remove the whipping when washing. Well I did exactly that with my BB. When I rewhipped the hammock, things were not right. I had to send it back to WARBONNET to be rewhipped properly. How the whipping is done affects how the hammock lays. Whipping is part of the difference between vendors. So be aware of that little fact especially with the Warbonnet GE.
